Bio
Ashley is passionate about good counseling and mental health. Her philosophy is that unearthing root issues requires a holistic, integrated, and personalized approach. While some issues may be psychological, other spheres must also be considered – for example, the social, spiritual, and physiological.
With a multidisciplinary lens, Ashley relies heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She began utilizing CBT over a decade ago while working at the Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, she utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for processing traumatic events, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and incorporate helpful practices like mindfulness. This blended approach helps clients develop clarity and vision for meaningful change.
Ashley is a life-long learner. She values growing her clinical expertise to help optimize client care. She has had the privilege of presenting at the International Congress of Logotherapy, the Virginia Central Counseling Symposium, and online. She has also assisted in teaching classes and facilitating groups for engaged and newly married couples.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting museums, reading books, hiking and traveling. She has been married to her college sweetheart for nearly a decade.
Ashley considers trust is an essential component of counseling. For this reason, she offers potential clients a free, 15-minute phone consultation so they can get to know her before scheduling an appointment. Reach out today.
